Chuck Buckle

Coach Chuck Buckle was inducted into the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame on June 1, 2024. He coached a total of 31 years, and from 1981-2013 he coached cross-country/track and field at McIntosh High School. His girls cross-country teams won 19 region championships, and in 1998 and 2005 were AAAA state champions. His boys cross-country teams won 12 region championships, and in 1996 and 2012 were AAAA state champions. His 2013 boys’ track & field team won the AAAA state championship. He had 3 state runner-up teams, named GACA Coach of the Year 4 times, and the Atlanta Track Club Coach of the Year 5 times. He retired as a Sergeant Major in the Army Reserve and served 35 years with combat service in the global war on terror. Twelve times he was presented with military awards/decorations for his outstanding service. The Georgia Athletic Coaches Association is proud to have Coach Buckle as a Hall of Fame member.
