Charles Flowers
Coach Charles Flowers was inducted into the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame on May 31, 2025. He coached for 32 years in Georgia, 22 years as a head football coach, and 26 years as a head baseball coach. He coached for 3 years at West Point High School, 14 years at Shaw High School in Columbus, Georgia, 3 years at Dougherty High School in Albany, Georgia, and 2 years at Troup High School in LaGrange, Georgia. His football record was 172-81, winning 7 region championships, 2 region runner-up, 2 state semifinal teams, and in 2000 his Shaw High team won the AAAA state championship. His baseball record was 412-180, winning 2 region championships, 3 region runner-up, 2 state runner-up, and his Shaw High School team won the 2000 AAAA state championship. He is 1 of 6 coaches in Georgia High School Association history to win 2 state championships in the same year. In 2016 he co-founded a second chance W.O.R.K.S., a restorative justice mentorship program for students and parents. The Georgia Athletic Coaches Association is proud to have Coach Charles Flowers as a member of the Hall of Fame.
