Jeff Herron
Coach Jeff Herron was inducted into the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame on May 31, 2025. He was also inducted into the Emory and Henry University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2022, and the National High School Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio in June of 2025. He was a head football coach in Georgia for 30 years at Walton High School, Cedar Shoals High School, Wheeler High School, Oconee County High School, Camden County High School, Prince Avenue Christian, and Grayson High School. His record was 309-67, winning the 1999 State Championship at Oconee County High, 2003, 2008, 2009, State Championships at Camden County High, and the 2016 State Championship at Grayson High School. He is the only football coach in Georgia to win state championships at three different schools. His teams also won 17 region championships. Coach Herron was also at T.L. Hanna in South Carolina for 2 years, going 25-2 with 2 region championships and the upper state championship in 2018. He was the Atlanta Officials’ Association Coach of the Year in 1993, Atlanta Falcons Coach of the Year in 2009, and the GACA Coach of the Year 17 times. It is with great pride that the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association welcomes Coach Herron into the Hall of Fame.
