Rufus McDuffie

Coach Rufus McDuffie was inducted into the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame on May 31, 2025. He is a graduate of Appling County High School in Baxley, Georgia and attended college at ABAC in Tifton, Georgia Southern University, and Valdosta State University. As a boys’ basketball coach at Mitchell-Baker High School, Washington County High School, Valdosta High School, and Dougherty County High School, he accumulated a 614-266 record. His Mitchell-Baker teams won 5 state championships, 3 state runner-up, and 7 region championships. At Washington County, his 2005 and 2006 teams were region champions. It is an honor to induct Coach McDuffie into the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
