Rich McWhorter

Coach Rich McWhorter was inducted into the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame on May 31, 2025. He was a head football coach in Georgia for 33 years. He coached at Charlton County High School and Jackson County High School. His record was 303-105-2. At Charlton County High his teams won 4 state championships, 3 state runner-up, and 15 region championships. His teams were in the playoffs for 27 straight years. He was Class 1A Coach of the Year in 1999, AA Coach of the Year in 2004, 2005, 2006. Also, in 2006 he was the States All Classification Coach of the Year, 2017 Nike Coach of the Year, and the Georgia Sports Writers Coach of the Decade 2000-2009. It is an honor to have Coach McWhorter in the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
